What To Do in Case of an Emergency

AN EMERGENCY IS WHEN YOUR LIFE IS IN DANGER, YOUR HEALTH OR WELL-BEING IS AT RISK OR THERE’S A NATIONAL OR INTERNATIONAL CRISIS.

Who to contact in case of a personal emergency?

    • Police:   112 (save on your phone)
    • Accident, Fire, Medical Emergency: 119 (save on your phone)

Emergencies

 In case of emergency, first dial 112 to reach police resources or 119 for an ambulance. Be prepared to say your name, share your exact location and type of emergency. You will be transferred to an English-speaking operator in a few moments.

Then call CIS Abroad US Emergency Phone at +1 413 210 7091 / Emergency Email: emergency@cisabroad.com (you can share this number with your parents).

The CIS Abroad emergency phone is used for on-site emergencies across the world, and someone will always be able to answer, as the phone is monitored 24/7.

If this is an emergency that happens during the day (from 8:00am to 8:00pm), please notify your site director. They will help to guide you through the emergency.

If it is a medical emergency, taking a taxi may be the quickest way to get to the hospital.  

Clinics and Hospitals: 

The hospital by Sogang University that we recommend is Sinchon Yonsei Hospital (신촌연세병원). It is a mid-sized hospital with a walk-in clinic during the say The doctors speak English and the staff can speak some English. It is about a 10-minute walk from the Sogang main gate, or a 5-minute taxi from Gonzaga. Full hospital information can be found below:

The emergency room we recommend is Kangbuk Samsung Hospital (강북삼성병원). The emergency room is 24-hour. If you are unsure about how to go to the emergency room, are seriously ill, or need treatment fast, please call an ambulance. They will take you to the nearest hospital with the greatest availability.

The pharmacy by Gonzaga Hall that we recommend is Iroun Pharmacy (이로운 약국). It is a 5-minute walk from Gonzaga Hall (back gate) and is open 7 days a week. The staff can speak English. You can find their opening hours and full information below:
